A LOT OF COMPETITION FOR JASMINE CAMACHO-QUINN IN THE 100 METERS HURDLES
April 22, 2022
The Puerto Rico Athletics Classic looks to be the highest caliber meet of the 2022 season to date. On the 12th of May dozens of World and Olympic medalists will be competing at an expected sold out crowd.
The main draw of the meet will of course be Puerto Rico’s own, Jasmine Camacho-Quinn. The Olympic champion and Record Holder will not have an easy race on her hands. She will face the current World Champion, two-time World Indoor Champion and 2006 Olympic silver medalist, NAIA Ali (USA).
Camacho-Quinn currently holds the World leading time with 12.65 run into a strong headwind in Bermuda, but Ali opened her season fast as well. The World Champion, in her first race since giving birth to her third baby, ran a faster 12.59 wind aided mark.
Other challengers expected to threaten Camacho-Quinn will be American Indoor Record Holder, Sharika Nelvis and Work Indoor silver medalist, Christina Clemons (USA).
The competition, which is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour – Silver Level, is dedicated to the Olympian Javier Culson from Ponce.
Tickets are on sale now and are $30 for box seats and $20 for general admission. Both prices include the IVU and service charges. The box area that will be sold for this athletics event will be sections 20 to 40 on the 100 meter straight. Buy tickets here: https://ticketera.com/clasicointernacionaldeatletismodepuertorico.
