PONCE, Puert Rico.- The Puerto Rico International Athletics Classic will feature another event featuring the last two Olympic gold medalists in the women's pole vault with Tokyo champion Katie Nageotte. Nageotte's challenge will come from 2016 gold medalist Ekaterini Stefanidi.

Although the last two Olympic gold medalists were in attendance, perhaps the real favorite for the event is the recently crowned world indoor champion, Sandi Morris. Morris, who also has a 2016 Olympic Silver as well as two Silvers at the last two World Outdoor Championships, holds the highest personal best in the field at 5.00m.

The competition, which is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour – Silver Level and will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2002, is dedicated to Olympic athlete Javier Culson de Ponce.

Tickets are on sale now and are $30 for box seats and $20 for general admission. Both prices include the IVU and service charges. The box area that will be sold for this athletics event will be sections 20 to 40 on the 100 meter straight. Buy tickets here:
